Wonderful Ways to Spend Time in Kenya

Kenya is one of the most diverse countries in East Africa. Kenya really does have it all, whether you’re looking for the ultimate safari experience, hiking adventure or a chance to relax in white sand beaches.

There are many things to do in Kenya, right from exploring the capital city of Nairobi to going on safaris and hanging out on Lake Victoria.

To watch a beautiful sunset while sailing take a dhow cruise in the island city of Mombasa. The traditional dhows are now extensively used for taking the tourist for sightseeing. All types of dhows are it basic or luxurious is available at your beck and call.

River raft the Tana River: white-water rafting and Kayaking on the Tana River in Kenya are becoming popular activities in the country. Not only one can enjoy adventurous river rapids, but also an opportunity to view Kenya’s nature from the river. The ecosystem and bird viewing while rafting are spectacular.

The theme night at the Carnivore: the carnivore restaurant is successfully trying out an implementing an exemplary tradition. Theme nights are regularly organised for different tribes within the country right from Luo Night to Luhya Night, kamba Night, kalenjin, Kikuyu and a host of other tribe themed nights. On specific theme nights anyone is welcome. It is one of the best ways to experience various Kenyan tribes and cultures while having fun and dancing the right away.

A ride in a hot air balloon is a great experience. The view of the widerness from the sky is totally exhilarating. Many high end lodges arrange balloon trips so don’t forget to take ones.

Everyone who t can afford meat in Kenya enjoys a good dose of Nyama Choma. Nyama Choma is Kenya’s version of roasted meat on the grill- most authentically prepared at road side butcheries.

Go fishing: for an ultimate fishing experience, go deep seas fishing in the waters of Watamu or Malindi, kingfish, swordfish, sailfish and tuna.

Enjoy a sunset cruise in Lake Naivasha: it is situated in the Rift Valley, not far from Hells Gate National park is the beautiful lake of Naivasha. Enjoying a sunset cruise here is the best way to snap some of the incredible birdlife and to watch local fisherman as they sail next to hippos to grab their dinner. However grab a photograph of weird looking trees that seem to eerily grow forth from this huge freshwater oasis.
