Seville, A Beautiful Capital of Andalusia

Seville's impressive sights such as the Giralda Tower and the Alcazar Palace invite tourists to a vacation in to the capital city of Andalusia. In the capital city of Andalusia, tourists can enjoy the sun, culture and Spanish zest for life. The beautiful Guadalquivir River connects the city where tradition and modernity offers visitors many attractions.

Seville's landmark, the Giralda tower, dominates all other buildings in the city. The Giralda tower is the tallest building in Seville. It combines the cultures of Andalusia. Originally conceived as a minaret of a mosque by the Moors in the 12th Century, built the tower was later equipped with a bell tower and converted to a cathedral.

From the tower you can enjoy a view over the city. The associated cathedral was built in place of the mosque, in the Gothic style. The cathedral is similar to St. Peter's Basilica in the Vatican and St. Paul's Cathedral in London, the third largest church in the world and the largest Gothic church.

The Alcazar palace in Seville is one of the popular attractions, and the tourists have to visit here without fail. It is one of the few examples of the Mudejar Architecture. At Seville you can find the beauties of architecture that include Christian rule-styled building with the influence of Islamic architecture.

The Plaza de España was built in the year 1929. The square is surrounded by a canal crossed by four bridges. They symbolize the four kingdoms of Spain. The buildings are now the offices of the Government of Andalusia.

According to legend, Hercules was the founder of Seville. The Promenade Alameda de Hercules was named after him. It is with many cafes and bars, a good meeting place for the younger and alternative scene in Seville. The large space of the promenade often hosts public festivals, theater performances and concerts.
