From temples to churches here is just some of the world’s most breathtaking religious structure found around the world that will give you a deeper and higher sense of spiritual being.

The Big Temple which is also known as The Brihadeeswara Temple in Tamil Nadu. This temple is the best example of excellent workmanship grandeur and it has stood the testimonial of time with its magnificent central dome which is an attraction for one for all. The temple is most famous due to its uniqueness as among the greatest glories of the Indian Architecture. It is one of the few temples that have Ashta-Dikpaa lakas Idols. Chola frescoes depict Shiva in different poses. Brihadeeswara temple is the first granite temple in the world. The statue of Nandi at the entrance of the temple is carved out of a single stone. The Shiva lingam here is gigantic more than 12 feet tall. There are also bundle of surprises like the shadow disappear at noon. The Brihadeeswara Temple is one of the tallest temples.

The Shwedagon Pagoda in Myanmar also known as the Golden Pagoda. This Golden Shwedagon Pagoda is the most sacred site in Myanmar. It is said to be the home of the relics of all the four Buddha. The elegant Shwedagon Pagoda is Yangon’s most famous landmark. The stupa is 99 meter high with gold plated topped with diamond studded spire. Sunset is definitely the best time to visit Shwedagon Pagoda. The light is magical at this time of day and getting to see the lights come on and watch the stupa glow in the darkness is truly an amazing experience. The Golden temple is famous for its architectural beauty and charm. The most sacred part of the temple is Hari Mandir or Darbar Sahib. This part of the temple is famous for the Exquisite golden structures at the centre; there are also many shops and dining hubs where travellers can go after making a visit to the Golden Temple.

Mecca Saudi Arabia: the focal point of Islam and Mecca is the Ka’aba a cube shaped building within Islam’s holiest mosque, Al-Masjid Al- Haramn. Muslims believe that the Ka’aba was built by Ibrahim as the first site in the world, built to worship Allah. But unfortunately unless you’re a Muslim, visiting Mecca is not going to happen. The city is completely off limits for Non-Muslim, so getting in requires being either a Muslim or somehow sneaking in. Every year Muslim across the world gather in the holy city of Mecca at the end of a religious pilgrimage known as the hajj.
